Introduction

Hispanic American Freethinkers, Inc. (HAFree) is a non-profit charity, an educational organization that serves as a resource and supports Hispanic freethinkers who promote the search for truth through science, rational thought, and critical thinking. We are humanists who assert humankind's right to set its own morality and destiny free of a god, with absolute freedom of conscience. We are skeptics who criticize supernatural claims and dogmas, rationally evaluate faith-based myths. We are secularists who support the separation of church and state in the United States Constitution.

Founded in 2010, we are based in Washington, DC, with local chapter groups across the United States. Our members confront pseudoscience, supernatural and paranormal claims, and superstition, with naturalistic, evidence-based approaches to knowledge. We educate the public on rational thought and promote it by creating video and podcasts, staging peaceful protests, erecting street signs, writing articles, running conferences, organizing community activities, and giving media interviews.

Mission

We peacefully and lawfully work to keep faith-based and supernatural beliefs from influencing our public institutions and our private lives. Our core values are a commitment to the Hispanic community to:

  • Teach the use of science, critical thought, logic, and reason to evaluate truth,
  • Bring forth moral principles based on the natural and evidence based human experience as well as Humanistic ideals, and
  • Educate young Hispanics how to think, not what to think.
